Snow Shelters
I am looking for some good references to making snow shelters. We will be taking our troop to a winter survival camp and need some ideas of snow shelters. Please post a comments below.
Johnson Creek
11 November 2006 We went camping at Johnson Creek. This was our hunters safety camping trip. We were taught the safety features of the guns and hunters safety. We then fired away at the targets with a black powder 50 cal rifle. We then shot at clay pigeons with the 12 gage shotgun. It was a lot of fun for the scouts as well as the adults.

Trips with Scouts around the world
I have been a Cubmaster in Germany. We went on a trip to Kandersteg International Scout Center in Switzerland. http://www.kisc.ch/ It was an exciting trip to take 15 boys skiing in the Alps. The boys that I took, most of them have never been on skis. It was fun to teach the boys to ski, and then set them loose on some steep slopes. Is there any international scouting event that you have been on?
What are some of the best foods that you cooked on an open fire?
I enjoyed chocolate pound cake made in a Dutch oven on my last trip. Are there any foods you enjoy on an open fire?
Scouting Trips You have been on
The latest camping trip I went on was with Troop 323 out of Emmett, Idaho. We went to Silver Creek Plunge in October of 2006. The temperature was cold, around 27 degrees at night and getting to 50 degrees during the day. We went swimming in the outside pool which is filled with natural hot springs and kept to about 90 degrees. Of course getting out of the pool was challenging with the temperatures, but was worth the trip. Do you have any camping experiences?
